that's cool, but OpenDesk is the project that I'm hyped about

@testman @All Europeans 🇪🇺 Can someone explain what is going on here? openDesk is from the same GErman ZenDIS that is also part of the collaboration advertised above. Is this a case of "the left hand does not know what the right hand does", or do both projects share a code base?

@tobifant
OpenDesk is a project that aims to connect / integrate various FOSS projects that could be useful for public administration or any other office.
Docs is a FOSS note-taking platform, which does seem useful for offices.
So hopefully OpenDesk decides to integrate that as well.

@tobifant @testman It does look much the same, including the themeing. Maybe one is project and the other is product?

I have a question. Why these lovely open source alternatives use GitHub when there is #Codeberg -- a lovely open source alternative to that proprietary Microsoft service?

While you’re at it, have a look at CryptPad: that provides privacy by design and is AGPL-Licensed, so it is free and stays free:

cryptpad.org/

And its flaship instance is hosted in France:
cryptpad.fr/

Cool, nice to see that the talk about "software independence" was more than just talk :)
The editor looks pretty nice too.

I failed to create an account to use these because I didn't have an email in an EU business or academic domain. Am I misunderstanding or is this a requirement? Other than running my own server?

The illustrations you posted contained obvious issues a designer would never make for such a simple design (circled in red) so it looked synthetic and ai gen and a tool like thehive.ai/demos returned a 1.0 ai_generated which is a strong indice of confidence the media was AI generated... Did you generated your illustrations with AI gen?

There is a video from #FOSDEM where the representatives of ZenDis (German Center for Digital Sovereignty) 🇩🇪 and DINUM (French Interministerial Digital Directorate) 🇫🇷 talk about the project.

Alexander Smolianitski, the head of OS products at ZenDis, also participated in two other sessions where he presented the software developed on the German side:

- openDesk on openCode: Developing a Secure Office Suite and SDLC:

I wonder about its accessibility (if you know, what I mean). Will definitely test, thank you!
